New Food Service Guide for Download
As food businesses in Alameda County are reopening and rebuilding their operations, they no longer need to rely on disposable cups, plates, utensils and other food service items to keep customers and staff safe. Consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, local health authorities are explicitly allowing reusable foodware when properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized. In addition to reducing costs, reusable foodware also cuts waste, prevents litter, and improves diner experience.
For details, download the Reusable Foodware Guide, developed by StopWaste in consultation with the Alameda County Department of Environmental Health. Additional guidance on reusable foodware, as well as related resources including funding assistance and technical support is available here.
