Livermore-Pleasanton ELKS Lodge No 2117 will be presenting a Flag Day Ceremony on Friday June 14th at 6:00 PM. This ceremony is open to the public. This ceremony is an Elks Tradition Patriotism that has characterized the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America since the early days of the organization. The Allegiance to the flag of our country is a requirement of every member.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks has honored Flag Day since 1907 – before it was even a national holiday.
A short presentation will be given describing the flag and its meaning to Americans. Additional elements of the ceremony will include singing the national anthem and "America", and serving refreshments.
