Kick Off the New Year by Saving Lives: Donate Blood and Get a Warriors Sweatshirt!
Stanford Blood Center (SBC) is a proud partner of the Golden State Warriors and is kicking off the new year with a special thank-you for blood donors during National Blood Donor Month. Throughout January, all blood donors will receive a free Warriors sweatshirt as a token of appreciation for their lifesaving generosity.
The start of the year is a critical time for blood centers nationwide. Following the holiday season, there is often a significant dip in donations due to travel, seasonal illnesses, and busy schedules, which can leave blood supplies dangerously low. These challenges make National Blood Donor Month the perfect opportunity to encourage the community to give back and help ensure a stable blood supply for local hospitals.
“With the new year comes an opportunity to reflect on what truly matters, and blood donation is an incredible way to support your community,” said Harpreet Sandhu, CEO of Stanford Blood Center. “We encourage everyone to consider making blood donation a regular part of their routine or even part of their New Year’s resolution. Every donation has the power to save lives and make a meaningful difference.”
Stanford Blood Center supplies blood products to local hospitals, including Stanford Health Care, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, and others in the Bay Area. The need for blood is constant, with someone requiring a transfusion every two seconds in the United States.
This January, SBC hopes to inspire both new and returning donors to roll up their sleeves. Donating blood is quick, easy, and safe, and it provides an opportunity to give back in a deeply impactful way. Let’s start 2025 off strong by saving lives together. Donate blood and make a difference!
