Robert Nuddleman is back to help our nonprofits comply with their sexual harassment prevention requirements. California law requires employers with 5 or more employees to provide sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention training to all employees every two years. The law requires the training to include practical examples of harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. The training must take place within six months of hire or promotion and every two years thereafter. Seasonal and temporary employees or employees hired to work less than 6 months, must be trained within 30 calendar days after hire or within 100 hours worked, whichever is earlier.

This interactive training will cover:

• How to identify behavior that may constitute unlawful harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation under both California and federal law
• What steps to take when harassing behavior occurs in the workplace
• How to report harassment complaints
• Supervisors’ obligation to report harassing, discriminatory or retaliatory behavior when they become aware of it
• How to respond to a harassment complaint
• An employer’s obligation to conduct a workplace investigation of a harassment complaint
• What constitutes retaliation and how to prevent it
• The essential components of an anti-harassment policy
• The effect of harassment on harassed employees, coworkers, harassers, and employers
• Harassment based on gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation

As a bonus, Mr. Nuddleman will also discuss new laws impacting California workplaces.

Fees:
This training is offered at $25 for TVNPA members and $35 for non-members.

This course is designed to comply with the training required of all employees and supervisors. Each attendee who wants to receive a certificate must be separately registered and attend the event.
