Description
Economic Trends and Outlook: Future-Proofing Your Business
Program DescriptionAn "evergreen" presentation exploring economic trends and outlook for the next twelve months of the US and Global economies.
In this presentation, in layman's terms, we explore the economy today, near-term (next 12 months), and long-term through the lens of micro-and macroeconomic trends in the Global and US economies. We also explore the most significant issues impacting the economy and business owners and operators today (e.g., Federal Reserve actions with regard to inflation, recession risk, and interest rates; Russia/Ukraine war impact on the global economy, energy, and inflation; labor market tightness, wage inflation, supply chain challenges, de-globalization and unwinding of supply sourcing; and business risks such as international political economy issues, etc.).
We also identify transformative meta-issues such as increasing labor productivity, automation, AI, work-from-home, digital nomadism, worker free-agency, asynchronous selling, and other trends impacting consumer and business buying behaviors. We explore areas of economic headwinds and tailwinds and business and investment themes for 2023. We explore different types of economic market indicators (e.g., leading, concurrent, and trailing indicators). Members are challenged to identify the key indicator(s) most informative for their future business prospects (e.g., rain is the essential sales driver for a lawnmower company). Members are encouraged to identify peer group members whose businesses lead or track with member companies.
