Community Partnerships Manager
Position Description
The Community Partnerships Manager leads corporate fundraising and partnership efforts while executing key donor and sponsorship events for Livermore Valley Arts (LVA). This highly relationship-driven, outward-facing role manages and grows a portfolio of corporate partners with a starting annual revenue goal of $100,000+ and oversees signature events, including the annual Fundraiser, Chair’s Event, Season Announcement, and select donor cultivation events.
The Manager is responsible for stewarding existing corporate partnerships while actively expanding the portfolio through new partner acquisition and revenue growth. This is a visible community-based position that requires regular time spent attending performances, events, meetings, and civic functions, rather than working exclusively in an office setting.
Annual goals and performance expectations are established in collaboration with the Director of Development.
Essential Responsibilities
Corporate Partnerships & Fundraising
- Develop and execute a corporate fundraising strategy in collaboration with the Director of Development.
- Personally solicit corporate gifts, including sponsorships and partnerships.
- Establish annual fundraising and partnership goals in collaboration with the Director of Development, with performance evaluated against agreed-upon objectives.
- Achieve annual corporate fundraising goals.
- Grow the corporate partnership portfolio through proactive prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation of new corporate partners.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, renew, and upgrade corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
- Prepare customized sponsorship proposals and manage corporate ticketing and hosting needs.
- Steward a portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring timely communication, benefit fulfillment, and high-quality service.
- Ensure all corporate gifts are properly acknowledged and recorded.
Community Engagement & Ambassador Role
- Serve as a visible and professional representative of LVA within the community.
- Attend performances at the Bankhead Theater to engage corporate partners, donors, and patrons.
- Participate in community events, chamber functions, and city-sponsored activities to build relationships and expand organizational visibility.
- Act as the primary in-house liaison for corporate partners, coordinating across departments to deliver a seamless experience.
Events & Sponsorship Activation
- Plan and execute corporate-related fundraising and donor events, including annual fundraisers, Chair’s Event, Season Announcement, and special cultivation events (approximately 6–12 per year).
- Manage and track event budgets in collaboration with the Director of Development; new or unplanned expenses require approval from the Director of Development and/or CEO.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all sponsorship and event deliverables are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Manage vendor relationships related to catering, rentals, and event execution.
- Serve as point person for Event & Auction Software (currently OneCause).
Data & Administration
- Maintain accurate partnership and event records in the organization’s CRM system (currently PatronManager/Salesforce) and Event Management system (currently Momentus Elite).
- Maintain accurate documentation of sponsorship agreements, benefits, and fulfillment tracking within the CRM and event systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of LVA’s mission and organizational needs.
Schedule & Work Environment
This position requires regular evening and weekend work to support performances, events, and community engagement.
Scheduling includes flexibility, with the ability to adjust hours to accommodate evening and weekend commitments.
The role involves a combination of office-based work and frequent in-person community engagement.
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required.
- College degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of nonprofit experience preferred.
- 3–5 years of event planning experience; fundraising or donor events strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated comfort with direct solicitation and closing corporate gifts preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Patron Manager or Salesforce preferred.
- Experience with event or auction software (OneCause preferred).
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to reconcile and balance sales and transactions at the conclusion of events.
- Ability to operate POS and ticketing systems as needed.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during performances, events, and community engagements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and move throughout event spaces during setup and breakdown.
- Ability to work in office, theater, and off-site event environments.
- Learn and follow safety procedures.
