About Us
Valley Montessori School was founded in 1976. We are a private, non-profit, authentic Montessori school serving more than 400 students ages 18 months through 8th grade offering a 10 month school year plus 8 weeks of summer camps. We are accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS) with non-traditional Montessori age groupings in the Upper Elementary and Middle School levels, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). In addition, VMS is a California Certified Green Business making us the only school in the Tri-Valley and just one of three in the state of California with this distinguished honor.
