LIVERMORE MARKS 150 YEARS WITH MONTH-LONG CELEBRATION
LIVERMORE, Calif. – The City of Livermore will continue to celebrate its 150th year of incorporation with a full lineup of events in June inviting residents and visitors to come together in recognition of the city’s past, present, and future.
The month-long schedule includes community celebrations, historic open houses, local art, and long-standing traditions that highlight the many experiences and stories that have shaped Livermore over the last 150 years.
“Livermore’s story has been shaped by generations of people who cared deeply about this city and helped make it what it is today,” said Mayor John Marchand. “This anniversary gives us a chance to celebrate that legacy, recognize the contributions of our community, and look ahead to the next chapter.”

Livermore was officially incorporated on April 1, 1876. The townsite was established in 1869 by William M. Mendenhall, who named the community after his friend Robert Livermore, an early rancher in the valley. From its agricultural roots and early wine-growing industry, Livermore has grown into the city it is today.
