Stanford Blood Center Presents Donation to Blood Cancer United Through Give Good Program

PALO ALTO, Calif., January 8, 2026 — Stanford Blood Center (SBC) welcomed representatives from Blood Cancer United, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, for a special check presentation as part of SBC’s ongoing Give Good Program. Through the program, donors are able to support community organizations through the donation of their earned points.

Blood Cancer United has been a valued partner in the Give Good Program since 2018. Through the initiative, blood donors earn points each time they give blood, which can be redeemed for items in SBC’s online store or donated back to select charitable partners. Among the contributors recognized at the ceremony was blood donor Kathy Stiles, one of SBC’s top Give Good contributors, who donated 6,000 points to support Blood Cancer United’s mission to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families.

During the visit, guests also received a behind-the-scenes tour of SBC’s laboratory facilities. “Seeing the lab processes firsthand was incredibly moving,” said Jenaye Shepherd, Executive Director, Northern California, at Blood Cancer United. “Knowing the level of detail and care that goes into each blood unit underscores how vital these donations are for patients impacted by blood cancer.” The visit offered a meaningful opportunity to deepen the connection between both organizations, and the lifesaving work they support.

“We are incredibly grateful for our continuing partnership with Blood Cancer United,” said Jenn Bennett, SBC’s marketing and communications director. “The Give Good Program allows our donors to make an even greater impact beyond their lifesaving blood donations. Together, we’re able to turn generosity into immediate support for organizations serving patients and families affected by blood cancer.”

SBC will continue expanding collaborations with charitable partners in the coming year to further strengthen the community impact of its donor programs.
