LVJUSD Board of Education Unanimously Selects Superintendent Finalist

June 8, 2026 - Livermore, CA - The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Board of Education has unanimously selected Anthony Limoges, Ed.D. as the finalist candidate to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools. The decision follows a thorough search and interview process done in partnership with the Alameda County Office of Education.

“In addition to his diverse personal experiences and professional background, Dr. Limoges believes that trust, collaboration, integrity, and strong relationships are cornerstones of effective educational leadership. The Board shares these values and looks forward to partnering with him in service of our students, staff, and the Livermore community,” said Board President Steven Drouin.

With more than 30 years of educational experience, Limoges brings a deep understanding of public education to support the continued growth, success, and development of LVJUSD’s students, staff, and schools. He has served as Associate Superintendent of Human Resources for the past eight years in the Rocklin Unified School District, a Placer County TK-12 district comparable to LVJUSD in both size and demographics. Prior to his tenure in Rocklin, Limoges spent four years as Director of Secondary Education for Elk Grove Unified, where he oversaw curriculum and instruction for 24 middle and high schools. His educational services leadership was shaped by more than a decade of experience as a middle and high school administrator and eight years in the classroom teaching science and social studies.

"I am honored and humbled by the Board's confidence in selecting me to serve as the next superintendent of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. I am excited to join a district that values both excellence and connection. Livermore is a special community with a proud tradition of educational excellence, exceptional employees, engaged families, and students who inspire every day,” shared Limoges. “I believe that the strongest schools and communities are created when people come together around a shared purpose. As I begin this new role, my first priority will be listening and learning from our students, staff, families, and community members. Together, we will build upon the district's many strengths, foster meaningful relationships, and ensure every student has the opportunities, support, and experiences they need to learn, grow, and thrive."
Prior to earning his Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California (USC), Limoges earned both his Masters in Educational Administration and Bachelors in Secondary Education & History from universities in the Midwest, closer to where he grew up in rural Minnesota. He is a proud father of four, with a college student at the University of Oregon, a soon-to-be high school senior, and twins heading into their sophomore year of high school. Outside of work and family activities, he enjoys exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains and fishing in remote streams throughout California.

Superintendent contract details will be presented for board approval at the June 16th regular board meeting. The intended start date for the position is July 1.
